The Australian Medical Clinic
Delivering Hope. Healing Communities. The Australian Medical Clinic is a newly established healthcare facility in Mia Saba, Juba – Central Equatoria, proudly built by Kowanj Africa in partnership with Doctors Without Borders. Inspired by the Australian healthcare model, the clinic is designed to provide accessible, high-quality medical care for underserved communities across South Sudan. Built for Impact This modern facility is more than a clinic — it's a turning point for healthcare access in the region. With 10 inpatient beds, fully equipped consultation rooms, emergency services, and specialised treatment areas, the Australian Medical Clinic offers a safe and professional environment where patients can receive the care they need with dignity and compassion. Now Open: The Australian Medical Clinic Pharmacy Attached to the clinic is our in-house pharmacy, providing patients with direct access to high-quality, essential medications. Stocked through donations and global partnerships, the pharmacy is critical to: Ensuring immediate and affordable access to prescribed treatments Reducing patient wait times and improving recovery outcomes Supporting Tonj and Thiet hospitals with a centralised supply hub for medicine distribution Serving Beyond the Clinic The Australian Medical Clinic also functions as a regional support hub, helping to equip and supply hospitals in Tonj, Thiet, and other surrounding areas. This includes: Distributing medical equipment and pharmaceuticals Providing trained personnel to support local facilities Strengthening South Sudan’s broader healthcare infrastructure A Sustainable Model The clinic operates under a Medicare-style subsidy system, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to care. All profits are reinvested into the clinic’s growth, staffing, and services — allowing the facility to remain independent, scalable, and sustainable long-term. Powered by People & Partnership Our ongoing collaboration with Doctors Without Borders brings: Medical expertise and mentoring Access to global best practices in healthcare delivery Support for staff training, quality assurance, and logistics A New Era of Healthcare in South Sudan The Australian Medical Clinic is a symbol of what’s possible when community, compassion, and vision come together. It’s not just a clinic — it’s a beacon of hope, built for the people, by the people.
